MIDDLE ROCK, Port Macquarie: (Sunday 19th August 2012): The Australian Standup Paddleboard (SUP) Titles began today in Port Macquarie, on day nine of the Australian Surf Festival supported by Essential Energy.
Hosting week one of the Australian Surf Festival supported by Essential Energy, Port Macquarie once again turned on the waves for finals day.
Intense conditions brought 8 foot swell to the local beaches and competitors were back to Diamond Head for Day 2 of the Australian Surf Festival presented by Essential Energy.
Wade Carmichael (Avoca, NSW/AUS) and Nikki Van Dijk (Phillip Island, VIC/AUS) have claimed the men’s and women’s ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series titles for 2012. Both surfers won multiple events and were clearly the standout surfers on their respective series’ and will now go on to compete on the ASP World Junior Tour.
