Opening day of the Australian Surf Festival supported by Essential Energy was wild and windy. A solid swell from the south hit Port Macquarie on the east coast as the country’s best Longboarders took on the waves at Diamond Head.
Wade Carmichael (Avoca, NSW/AUS) and Nikki Van Dijk (Phillip Island, VIC/AUS) have claimed the men’s and women’s ASP Australasia Pro Junior Series titles for 2012. Both surfers won multiple events and were clearly the standout surfers on their respective series’ and will now go on to compete on the ASP World Junior Tour.

TravelSIM Team Australia has finished third behind Hawaii and the USA at the Nicaragua ISA World Masters Surfing Championship while Sandra English (Budgewoi, NSW) collected the silver medal in the Women’s Masters Division.
