Serge Dedina, a Californian surfer and environmentalist, is officially a candidate for Mayor of Imperial Beach, for the upcoming November 2014 election. The author of “Wild Sea: Eco-Wars and Surf Stories from the Coast of the Californias”, and co-founder of non-profit environmental organization WildCoast wants to “make Imperial Beach a better place for kids and families.” Dedina lives in Imperial Beach – “my hometown” – since he was seven years old. In his career, Serge helped developing two national parks along Baja’s Sea of Cortez coastline, and halted Mitsubishi Corporation from destroying San Ignacio Lagoon.
