Stephanie Gilmore has claimed her sixth ASP Women’s World Championship Tour (WCT) title, in a dramatic showdown at the Target Maui Pro 2014, in Hawaii. After failing to advance into the semifinals, Gilmore splashed the water. She knew that she would have to wait to see if she could still be crowned world champion. Tyler Wright needed to win the Target Maui 2014 to send the title race to a three-heat surf-off. Wright reached the final, where she found an in-form Carissa Moore. The nerve-wracking heat was, in fact, involving more than a couple of surfers.
