Kai Otton has defeated Nat Young to conquer the Rip Curl Pro Portugal 2013, at Supertubos, Peniche. The ASP World Tour title will be decided between Mick Fanning and Kelly Slater, at the Pipeline Masters. The first wave of the final was caught by Kai Otton, in the early seconds, showing that the Australian wanted a maiden Dream Tour stage title. But Young answered and both surfers could actually win Supertubos, at the half-way mark. The Santa Cruz surfer managed to find a rare barrel to slightly improve his overall score. Time was running out, and Otton was ready to see the light. He had never tasted victory in a WCT contest.
