The 2013 Arnette Punta Galea Challenge will be run on the 22nd December, in the Basque Country, Spain. The European big wave surfing event has been given green light, as the North Atlantic fires a deep water swell of 18-20’+ inside the bay of Biscay, with a long 16-19 second swell period that will offer waves in the 30+ foot face range. The Punta Galea Challenge is the third stop on the Big Wave World Tour schedule, after the Quiksilver Ceremonial Chile and the Billabong Pico Alto. However, these two stages have been cancelled due to poor surf conditions.
