Australian surfer Ethan Ewing and Macy Callaghan have claimed the 2016 World Junior Championship (WJC) in Kiama, New South Wales. The event organized by the World Surf League (WSL) concluded in Bombo Beach with shifty two-foot waves. Despite the small surf, the finalists were able to put out a great performance. Ewing defeated his friend Griffin Colapinto, who just couldn’t find his rhythm in the challenging ocean conditions. The Australian will be one of the fresh new faces on the upcoming 2017 Championship Tour (CT).
