Two former world champions have fallen in Round 2 of the Oi Rio Pro 2015, in Brazil. CJ Hobgood and Joel Parkinson are out of competition. The challenging six-to-eight foot (2-2.5 metre) waves at Barra da Tijuca caused a few upsets. And the storm has passed, as four Brazilian lose their decisive elimination heats. Mick Fanning survived the intensity of Rio de Janeiro. He managed to score the highest two-wave heat total of Round 2 – 16.63 out of a possible 20 – and defeat the man who beat him last year.
