The United Kingdom is actively investing in the development of a surfing squad for the Olympics. The government agency responsible for investing in Olympic and Paralympic sport in the British Islands decided that the new Tokyo 2020 sports – surfing, skateboarding, and softball – will receive a total of 538,682 dollars (421,829 pounds). UK Sport’ Aspiration Fund will channel $3.8 million (3 million pounds) to 14 Olympic and Paralympic sports to support their qualifying ambitions for the Olympics. Surfing is one of them.
