Adriano de Souza conquered the 2017 Oi Rio Pro, in Saquarema, Brasil. The Brazilian surfer defeated Adrian Buchan in a nail-biting final held in front of a large crowd of fans. The six-to-eight foot waves on offer at Itaúna delivered the perfect conditions for a tactical battle. “It’s been a long time since I’ve been up here, but I’m so happy to win here in front of this crowd,” expressed an emotional De Souza, who hadn’t won a Championship Tour event since the 2015 Pipe Masters.
