Allan Byrne, a New Zealand surfing legend, has suffered a motorcycle accident in Indonesia and fights for life in a Bali hospital. Byrne, 62, slipped into a coma and is now on life-support. He was expected to competed in the Masters division, at the Rip Curl Cup Padang Padang, when an accident fractured his skull. The Kiwi surf icon has conquered four National Open championships and also won the Junior title four times. Allan Byrne participated in the World Surfing Championships in 1966, 1968 and 1970.
