The Mick Fanning versus Kelly Slater battle was mind-blowing and celebrated the 50th anniversary of the unforgettable surf contest. Kelly Slater, the four-time Rip Curl Pro champion (1994, 2006, 2008 and 2010), has admitted that a win at Bells Beach would place him in a good position early in his quest for a 12th world title.
