A group of Australian wave riders has announced the launch of the Recreational Surfing Association. Tired of pro surfers and their impossible tricks in magazine covers? Jim Wilson and Andrew McKinnon believe that we should surf for fun and to protect the beach and surf amenity. Having in mind that recreational surfers make up 95% of the surfing population, the new non-profit community organisation aims to see the 38-kilometer Gold Coast’s coastal strip be declared a World Surfing Reserve, from South Straddie to Coolangatta.
