Mason Ho has conquered the 2013 HIC Pro, at Sunset Beach, Hawaii, following the footsteps of his his father Michael Ho. Mason’s father won this particular event four times between 1988 and 1996, and now the younger boy earns a wildcard into the Round of 64 of the first two events of the prestigious Triple Crown of Surfing. Ho fended off a late challenge in the final from veteran Pancho Sullivan, as the two traded off tube rides and deep carves – posting 16.26 and 13 points respectively, for their top two rides.
