Garrett McNamara has been honored by the Portuguese Navy. The surfer who rode the biggest wave in the world ever promises to chase larger salted water challenges. In 2011, the Hawaiian waterman put Nazaré in the world’s most relevant newspapers, TV stations and surf magazines. The serene Portuguese town showed all its wave potential and the Guinness World of Records confirmed it. One year later, Garrett McNamara surfed another giant wall. The photo captured by Tó Mané kept the spirit of Nazaré alive. It was not a dream, it was reality.
