Paul Speaker, CEO of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP), has released a statement regarding a new controversy around Stephanie Gilmore’s Roxy Pro Biarritz teaser. Following the release of the controversial Roxy Pro Biarritz trailer – in which Stephanie Gilmore has been accused of being too provocative – Chad Wells, senior Quiksilver employee, throws fuel on the fire to defend the women’s brand and the world champion. “Some butchy lesbos were representing surfing – not rigged out sexy women who are in touch with their sexuality and know exactly how they are represented and marketed,” Chad Wells wrote on Roxy’s Facebook page.
